Mexican sound explorers Digital Mass have decided to add a 3rd chapter to their drone saga “the murk”. Sounds used in “Lights in the Murk” were produced exclusively by electric guitars – played with various electric devices which helped to extract unexpected vibes out of the body of the instrument even without touching the strings.

Growl is an excerpt from the Grove of Whispers show of September 4, 2012. Performed live on Stillstream using midi controller, hackintosh and the buddhalizer virtual machine. Vocal samples chopped and screwed from old time radio shows.
Grove of Whispers is John Tocher. John does the Sadayatana podcast and plays live several nights a week on Stillstream. He also releases dark and experimental music at Buddhist on Fire.

Sobria Ebrietas is the main sound project of Bertrand Barbier since 1997. It gathers a rather varied range of musical elements : minimalist and/or eastern flavored (to our ears) melodic compositions, experimental dark ambient, noise bursts, , groovy electro-industrial rhythms… Nevertheless after listening to media res, a compilation covering 15 years in 2H30, you might notice the paradoxical cohesiveness of Bertrand’s rich soundwork, who carefully selected 25 of his favorite tracks for eg0cide.

New album 2 X 2 is simply a collection of 2 live duos featuring Kecap Tuyul on prepared guitar were improvised and recorded in summer 2011 and 2012.
Charles premier is an electroacoustic composer and improviser. He builds his own instruments, and used them in a live context for the first time during this summer 2012 sessions (with the Elektranuss Orkhestra & Kecap Tuyul)
Matthew Tyas is a multimedia artist (composer/songwriter, multi-instrumentist, improviser, film-maker). On this recording he played his main instrument : piano (but prepared this time) and voice.

Shattered Sun is a cinematic post-industrial track that is the main theme of a story conceived by the producer of this EP, Ostrowiak. The music is a crushing industrial piece with Middle Eastern flavor and “wall of sound” type of production.

Gexijs is a one-man band from USA. Horizon is his first album. A catchy blend of ambient & post-rock (?) influences. You really need to listen to the whole album to enjoy the subtility of these tracks.
Description by the artist : “Horizon is an album which was composed back in 2007, in an effort to create unconventional music using conventional instruments. The tracks were actually first written as a set of two EPs that were cohesive enough be included on the same release.
Thanks to my good friend Robert Smith for coming up with the concept to track 7, Deus Vult.”

The Raven is a multimedia collaboration of Ed End (video, featuring Damaris Baker as Lenore) and Thanato Twist With Oleg’s Sound System (music) using Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem read by Basil Rathbone. This amazing work is as weird as catchy, as hypnotic as unpredictable.

In Eskhaton, multimedia artist Massimo Brazzini explores what can hide under the surface of “normal” sounds. His experiments result in rather (dark) ambient oriented soundscapes, with some rough edges – and surprises… Massimo has also created the artwork of this album, from one of his own paintings, called “natura morta”
