[Eg0_039] Ars Sonor & Meklabor : Box of Matches

Autum will come soon, perfect time to listen to the delicate and melancholic drones of Ars Sonor (who also created the artwork) & Meklabor : a well titled EP inhabited by trembling lights and whispering winds : Box of Matches (featuring also flute sounds by Mystified on the 1st track)

Ars Sonor is an alias of Laetitia Schteinberg, a sound artist and photo enthusiast currently living in Sweden. She started making experimental soundscapes in 2003 using laptop and MIDI controller under the name Autosomal. Finally, in 2010, Autosomal became a group and Laetitia left the project in 2011, since that time working alone under the name Ars Sonor. The music of Ars Sonor is very diverse, spanning ambient, drone, dark dub and industrial.

Meklabor is an alias of D.Vlasov, an experimental artist from Russia and experienced bagpiper. His music is spanning syncretic folk, rhythmic noise and ambient

Ayato vs Ghosts : Stillborn Dub [Treetrunk Records / Eg0cide Productions]

When Ayato first listened to Stillborn Ghosts‘ double album “over & out” (released in 2009 by Svartgalgh) he immediately detected a dark dub potential in this weird mixture of post-noise-rock, dark ambient and industrial. So he asked to a member of the band – his friend & collaborator The Ghost Between The Strings – a copy of the original tracks of the album in order to do some remixes. In addition to 4 remixes, he composed new tracks using raw guitar recordings by the 2 members of the band (TGBTS & Stillborn Blues). The result can be considered as a completely new album : Stillborn Dub (and maybe even a new band, since the collaboration is going on…

The album is available as a free download from Treetrunk Records but you can also buy a CD-R version for 5 euros (excluding postage) from Eg0cide Productions. If interested, please write to tgbts0(at)gmail.com to order a copy

Subject: The birth of a new genre?
Not sure how I overlooked TGBTS until now- seeing that they have multiple releases– but I’m so very happy to find this recording.
It has a little bit of everything– (just like the description says) a “weird mixture of post-noise-rock, dark ambient and industrial”
Yes- it’s experimental… Yes- it can be very unsettling… chaotic and disastrous at times, and dark as midnight…
A great production that paints a picture of buildings collapsing into black oceans of churning restless water, crackling old radios hissing out dead songs, the sinister shadow creature just around the corner, and blue-grey TV static with its own wicked consciousness- you never know what will happen next- other than that it will leave you with a creepy feeling as though you’ve just somehow been sonically molested.
This release sets a new standard for the term “Dark Psychedelia”– and you should give it a listen. Thanks for making music of this caliber available for free.
Will definitely be checking out your other work!
Cheers!

Subject: “The Stillborn Dub” stride on a time to drift back. .
The power of a style is, may be, to develop itself across all, taking a stream end make it stronger….What is the part of the shadow when light is scarce? How to render it more deeper? How play with discord to make appear harmonic lines ? Ayato & the Ghosts drew a highway rhythm, putting points of light all along, raising abstract and scary shapes, chime out a guitar chord…..The Stillborn Dub stride on a time to drift back.
———–

[Eg0_037] Omutt : Sidan Av Ensamhet

Eg0cide Productions has recently been contacted by drone artist Omutt who submitted an album that he had previously self-released. We immediately found that this music really deserved more exposure, so we are glad to include Sidan Av Ensamhetand in our collection. We also hope to hear more from this projet soon…

A short presentation by the artist himself : “Omutt was founded in 2007, was published several times under different names (Altar Of Sorrow, Dime [Drone]) on Russian labels and net-labels. “Sidan Av Ensamhetand” was recorded in the period from January to April 2011. On this album I tried to do a variety of tracks of ambient/experimental/noise. This work is devoted to one girl who did the cover for this release and track titles offered in Swedish. I tried to express some mood of late winter, different moods. I used field-recordings, a bit of radionoise, bells, and more.”

[Eg0_036] Digital Mass : The Murk II

Back from a short tour in USA, the anonymous canadian drone collective Digital Mass has created a sequel to a previous long-from drone The Murk, (already released by Eg0cide last year). Bleaker, colder than the 1st issue, this new track is like a slow descent into some unknown caverns. Minimalist dark ambient at its best

[Eg0_034] Mystified : Concrete Mix

Mystified strikes back on eg0cide, using some samples of his recent experiments with trombone and other sound sources, including a remix of the track “Crumbling Walls; Inch by Inch, Row by Row” orginally created by Wilhelm Matthies.
This 30minutes mix of experimental soundscaping will take you through different atmospheres, from a rythmical intro to deep dark ambient, abstract textures and otherworldly drones…

[Eg0_033] Crepusculo : Invisible maze in the black hole

The mysterious mongolian act Crepusculo is back on eg0cide with a new album of minimalist dark ambient. Its thick basses, cold drones and clinical pulsations will hypnotize you repeatedly until you wonder whether you are discovering unknown life forms on a supposed desert planet, trapped into the microscopic world of viruses and bacteria, or simply the subject of some weird psychoacoustic experiments with sounds being injected directly into your nervous system.
